Roles
and Responsibilities
The Development Manager in the device platform organization will be
responsible for managing a team of highly competent engineers focused on
delivering value to end Kindle users. This person will also be responsible for
ensuring various system-level and business-level SLAs are met, while
maintaining an unrelenting focus on quality, throughput and innovation. This
person will have regular interactions with various internal business-owners,
external publishers/conversion houses to help understand priorities of
tasks/projects, handling system issues and managing communication across all
stakeholders.
Responsibilities in Engineering Management:
· Responsible for the over-all systems development life cycle of a key product
sub-system
· Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments
· Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an
Agile/Scrum environment
· Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and
maintaining a best-of-class engineering team
· Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical
design and approach
· Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance
to management
· Develop the long-term strategy for your platform and translate that into an
achievable road map/action plan
· Experience managing team skilled software development engineers
- Demonstrated technical leadership of both people and projects
