Job Description: L1 Engineers for Azure Infrastructure Support


We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Azure Infrastructure L1 Engineer to join our IT team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our Azure cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure, possess strong technical skills, and be capable of providing excellent support and troubleshooting services.



Roles and responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Monitoring: Monitor Azure infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.

• Issue Resolution: Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and requests within defined SLAs.

• ServiceNow Ticket Handling: Efficiently manage and resolve tickets using the ServiceNow platform.

• Maintenance and Support: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including system updates, patches, and backups.

• User Support: Provide first-level support to users experiencing issues with Azure services and applications.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.

• Collaboration: Work closely with higher-level engineers and other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.

• Security Compliance: Ensure infrastructure complies with security policies and best practices.

• Performance Optimization: Assist in the identification and implementation of performance improvements.

• Automation: Develop and implement basic automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks.

• Incident Management: Participate in incident management processes, including root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.

Required Mandatory experience

• Experience in Azure Administration: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience managing and supporting Azure environments.

• ServiceNow Expertise: Proficiency in using ServiceNow for ticket handling, including creating, updating, and resolving tickets.

• Terraform Experience: Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code, including creating, modifying, and managing infrastructure resources.

• Troubleshooting Skills: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

• Customer Service: Experience in providing high-quality support and service to users and stakeholders.

• ITIL Processes: Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices for incident and problem management.



Required industry experience:

• IT Infrastructure: Experience working within IT infrastructure environments, preferably within a mid to large-sized organization.

• Cloud Services: Experience with cloud service management, particularly within Azure.

• Managed Services: Experience in managed services or IT service provider environments is a plus.

Required Technical experience

• Azure Services: Proficiency in core Azure services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and monitoring tools.

• Azure AD: Knowledge of Azure Active Directory and identity management.

• Networking: Basic understanding of networking concepts, including VPN, VNet, and firewall configurations.

• Scripting: Basic scripting skills in PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar tools.

• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other monitoring and diagnostic tools.

• Automation: Understanding of automation concepts and tools, such as Azure Automation and ARM templates.

• Terraform: Experience with Terraform for managing infrastructure as code in Azure environments.

• Backup and Recovery: Knowledge of Azure backup and disaster recovery solutions.

• Security: Awareness of security best practices and tools within Azure, including role-based access control (RBAC) and security center.

• OS Management: Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems in an Azure environment.

• ServiceNow Ticket Handling: Proficiency in using ServiceNow for managing and resolving tickets, including understanding ticket priority, SLAs, and workflow processes.
